In the early 21st century, the procurement of office supplies and materials was primarily conducted through traditional methods. Agencies and organizations typically assigned personnel to visit locations such as Hang Ngang and Hang Dao streets, Dong Xuan Market, and various other markets to source individual items. For large enterprises, this process was time-consuming and labor-intensive, particularly during peak periods requiring the purchase of diverse product categories. It was against this backdrop that, in the year 2000, a small stationery shop named Ngoc Ha opened on Hoang Van Thai Street in Hanoi.
